Established in 1894, Bishop Auckland Golf Club is a parkland course situated in County Durham, England, with views of the picturesque Wear Valley and Auckland Castle. The club's origins trace back to theological students playing golf in the outer park of the Bishop of Durham's Palace around 1890. James Kay was employed to design the course which opened in 1894. The course is known for its unusual layout, featuring three consecutive par 5s early in the round and six consecutive par 4s to finish. It has previously hosted Open Regional Qualifying events.
