Barnard Castle Golf Club, established in 1898, is a parkland course located in County Durham, England. The club's initial nine-hole course was at Wyse Hill before moving to its current Harmire location in 1907. The course is known for its picturesque setting above the River Tees, offering views of the surrounding countryside. The layout features tree-lined fairways and incorporates natural water hazards, with streams and a pond influencing play on several holes. New trees and shrubs have been planted to add definition and challenge. The course is a par 73 and provides a fair test of golfing ability. While not one of the most famous courses in the UK, it is considered a hidden gem in the region. There is no indication that Barnard Castle Golf Club has been a venue for Open Qualifying.
