Bacup Golf Club, established in 1910, is a moorland course situated over 1000 ft above the Rossendale Valley in Lancashire, England. The club was founded after a meeting with the Town Clerk to form a golf club, initially opening at Cowtoot Farm before moving to its current site on Bankside Lane in 1916. A clubhouse was built in 1923, but it was destroyed by fire in 1939. The current clubhouse was officially opened in 1946. The course, playing 9 holes with alternate tees for an 18-hole round, offers panoramic views of the East Lancashire Pennine Hills. The layout was altered in the 1980s with the purchase of additional land, changing the 8th/17th hole and completely altering the 9th/18th holes. While not a widely known championship venue, it provides a challenging round with significant elevation changes and scenic vistas.
