Southerndown Golf Club, situated on a unique limestone-heath overlooking the Bristol Channel in Wales, offers a compelling downland links experience shaped by a lineage of esteemed architects including Willie Fernie, Herbert Fowler, Willie Park Jr., Harry Colt, and Donald Steel. Established in 1905, the course is known for its undulating terrain, strategic gorse and bracken, and challenging opening hole, famously described by Henry Cotton. The free-draining nature of the land ensures year-round playability, and the course has a history of hosting significant events, including serving as a qualifying venue for the Senior Open Championship.
