Pontnewydd Golf Club (Main Course)

Parkland Course in Cwmbran, Wales

Established in 1875, Pontnewydd Golf Club is considered one of the oldest golf clubs in Wales. It is a private parkland/meadowland course situated on a hillside overlooking the Cwmbran valley, offering views towards Newport and the Bristol Channel. The course is officially classed as a 9-hole course but features eleven different greens and additional tee boxes, allowing it to be played as 18 holes with a par of 68. Designed by Neil Beech, the course, while not long at just over 5,000 yards, presents challenges throughout the round due to its mountain-type layout. Visitors are welcome to play. The club offers facilities including a pro shop, putting green, restaurant, bar, buggy hire, and trolley hire. Club membership options are available.
