Pontnewydd Golf Club (18 Hole)

Steeped in history as arguably one of the oldest golf clubs in Wales, established in 1875, Pontnewydd Golf Club offers a unique golfing experience. The course is set on a hillside overlooking the Cwmbran valley, providing golfers with pleasant views across the landscape towards Newport and the Bristol Channel. The design is somewhat unconventional, featuring eleven distinct greens that are played from different tee positions to create a full eighteen-hole round. While not a championship distance course, measuring just over 5,000 yards from the back tees, its mountain-type characteristics present a challenging test of golf with a variety of demanding holes. The club has a notable history, including a period as Welsh Team Champions in 1986.
