Stornoway Golf Club (18-Hole Course)
Moorland/Parkland Course in Stornoway, Scotland
Stornoway Golf Club, founded in 1890 and re-sited in 1947 within the grounds of Lews Castle, is an 18-hole moorland and parkland course located on the Isle of Lewis in the Western Isles of Scotland. Despite its relatively short length of around 5252 yards from the white tees, the course presents a challenging and enjoyable round with undulating landscapes, up and down hill holes, blind greens, and dog-legs. Hazards include mature trees, heather, and gorse. The course offers picturesque views of Stornoway Harbour, the Minch, Broad Bay, and the mountains of Harris from higher points. Visitors are welcome, and the club is known for its friendly atmosphere. It hosts the Western Isles Open Amateur Championships as part of Lewis Golf Week every July.
