Boat of Garten Golf Club, known as 'The Boat', is a premier inland heathland course located in the Cairngorms National Park in the Scottish Highlands. Designed by James Braid, the 18-hole course opened in 1932 after being extended from an earlier 9-hole layout established in 1898. The course is set alongside the River Spey and the Strathspey Railway, featuring cleverly shaped fairways lined by birch trees, heather, and broom, maximizing the natural landscape. While not long by modern standards, measuring around 5,876 yards from the white tees with a par of 70, the course emphasizes accuracy and provides a challenging and memorable round with undulating fairways. The clubhouse offers a warm welcome with a restaurant, bar, and pro shop. Practice facilities include a driving range, putting green, and chipping area. Visitors are welcome, though advance booking is essential.
