Dungannon Golf Club, nestled in County Tyrone, Northern Ireland, boasts a history dating back to 1890. What began as a nine-hole layout by Sam Bacon evolved into a full eighteen holes in the mid-1960s. The course has benefited from the input of Open Champion Darren Clarke, a local hero and honorary member, alongside architect Patrick Merrigan, who have contributed to its modern design. Set in classic drumlin countryside with views towards Dungannon town, the parkland course presents a varied test. The front nine is relatively level, contrasting with the more undulating terrain found on the back nine. Wide fairways are a feature, placing emphasis on navigating the strategically positioned bunkers and water hazards. The signature 9th hole, named in honour of Darren Clarke, is a memorable par three demanding precision to a crescent-shaped green protected by a pond.
