Steeped in history along the County Down coastline in Northern Ireland, Donaghadee Golf Club, founded in 1899, presents a course with a compelling blend of seaside and parkland characteristics. The original nine-hole layout was designed by Willie Fernie, an Open Champion, with the course later extended to eighteen holes in 1907. Playing just over 6,000 yards, the par-71 course offers varying challenges with its undulating fairways. While not having hosted an Open Qualifying event, the course provides a genuine test of golf, where the coastal breezes can significantly influence shot-making, particularly on the memorable finishing holes.
