County Armagh Golf Club
Parkland Course in Armagh, Northern Ireland
County Armagh Golf Club, established in 1893 under the auspices of the local Archery and Lawn Tennis Club, occupies a picturesque setting within the historic Georgian parkland of the Archbishop's Palace Demesne in Armagh. Initially a nine-hole layout, the course was extended to eighteen holes, opening in its current form in 1975. The design of the expanded course was overseen by Don Patterson and Alan Smith. Playing through mature free-standing oaks, chestnuts, beech, and ash trees that frame the fairways, golfers will find a test of accuracy and strategy. The course features well-placed bunkers and leads to greens that are often highlighted by seasonal floral displays. While not an Open Qualifying venue, County Armagh has a history of hosting provincial and national championships, underscoring its reputation as a respected parkland test in Northern Ireland.
