Winter Hill Golf Club

Winter Hill Golf Club, established in 1976, is a parkland course situated on the bluffs above the River Thames in Berkshire, England. The course was the vision of John Spedan Lewis, founder of the John Lewis Partnership, who purchased the land in 1938. While initially an employee benefit, the club now welcomes outside members and visitors. The course, designed by John Spedan Lewis and Charles Lawrie, measures 6,397 yards from the white tees and plays to a par of 72. It is known for its panoramic views of the Thames Valley and features wide fairways, natural water hazards, and challenging greens. Accuracy is emphasized over length due to the course's design and changes in elevation. The greens and fairways are noted for being in excellent condition year-round, benefiting from good natural drainage. The club offers a pro shop, changing facilities, practice areas including a putting green, and a restaurant.
