Wetherby Golf Club
Parkland Course in Wetherby, England
Wetherby Golf Club, established in 1910 on the site of a former racecourse, is a picturesque parkland course in West Yorkshire, England. Redesigned in 1919 by the renowned architect Dr Alister MacKenzie, the course is set on an escarpment and bordered by the River Wharfe, offering pleasant views. While only two of MacKenzie's original greens remain as part of the current layout, the club has continued to evolve, with significant changes made at the turn of the century including the addition of six new holes. The course is known for its well-manicured fairways and presents a challenging yet fair test of golf. Wetherby has hosted prestigious events, including the Brabazon Trophy Northern Qualifier in both 2023 and 2024.
