South Leeds Golf Club
Parkland Course in Leeds, England
South Leeds Golf Club, located in England, was founded in 1906 and features a course redesigned by the acclaimed architect Dr. Alister Mackenzie in 1923. The club was originally established by three businessmen seeking a convenient place to play golf on the south side of Leeds. The construction of the Middleton Ring Road in 1922 necessitated a significant redesign by Mackenzie, who was known for his philosophy of imitating the beauties of nature in his course designs. The course adopted the name Parkside Links due to the links-like nature of the property. While the course offered enjoyable play with undulating greens characteristic of Mackenzie's style and views over the city, reports indicate the course has since closed.
