Shanklin & Sandown Golf Club (18-Hole Course)

Shanklin & Sandown Golf Club, established in 1900, is a heathland course located on the Isle of Wight. Originally a nine-hole layout designed by Tom Dunn, it was expanded to 18 holes by James Braid and officially opened in 1903. Further alterations were made in 1923 by Abercromby, J.F. (John Frederick) to improve the layout and eliminate some of the original crossover holes. The course, while not long by modern standards, demands accuracy due to its gorse, tree, and shrub-lined fairways and features some elevation changes. Notable holes include the uphill 5th and the challenging downhill 13th. Shanklin & Sandown has hosted the Hampshire County Championships multiple times.
