About North Luffenham Golf Club
Nestled in the picturesque Rutland countryside, North Luffenham Golf Club offers a parkland golf experience on a course that provides a fair test for golfers of varying abilities. Originally designed as a 9-hole layout within the grounds of St George's Barracks, the course features 12 greens and 18 tees, allowing for a full 18-hole round that winds through mature trees and incorporates natural water hazards and strategically placed bunkers. While perhaps not as widely known as some of England's more prominent golfing destinations, North Luffenham provides an engaging round with notable holes like the par-4 fourth, requiring precision off the tee, and the scenic par-3 seventh played over water. The club has a history tied to the military base, and while there were reports of potential closure in 2019, it appears to remain a welcoming venue for both members and visiting golfers seeking an enjoyable day in a tranquil setting. North Luffenham Golf Club has not been a venue for Open Championship Qualifying.
