Newark Golf Club
Parkland Course in Newark, England
Newark Golf Club, established in 1901, found its permanent home in 1934 on a course laid out by Tom Williamson. This mature parkland course, with elements of heathland, offers a testing yet enjoyable round where accuracy is often rewarded over pure power, particularly with the many trees lining the fairways. The layout, which also saw later refinements by Donald Steel, features a pleasing variety of holes, including the demanding par-four 4th played over water and back-to-back par fives on the front nine. An easy-walking course, it provides a fair challenge for golfers of all levels.
