Merrist Wood Golf Club

Merrist Wood Golf Club, located in Surrey, England, is an established parkland course designed by David Williams. Opened in 1998, the course was originally developed by Merrist Wood College to aid its teaching programs. It was recognised in the 1990s as one of the top ten new courses in the UK by Golf World. The course is set within 210 acres of countryside and features a gentle south-facing slope, four lakes, and mature woodlands. While designed as an 18-hole, par 72 championship course measuring up to 6,909 yards from the championship tees, only nine holes have been consistently in use since late 2023. The club has faced challenges with drainage on the land, and recent proposals for remodelling the course have been met with objections and are currently under review. The club was previously a members' club under Crown Golf but transitioned to a pay-and-play venue under new ownership in 2020. There is no indication that Merrist Wood Golf Club has been used as an Open Qualifying location.
