Handsworth Golf Club

Handsworth Golf Club, established in 1895, is located just a few miles north of Birmingham city centre. The club moved to its present site in 1896, with the 18-hole course completed in 1899. The course was skillfully remodelled by Harry Colt in 1920. A flood management scheme in 2018 led to the introduction of three new holes, overseen by Jonathan Gaunt. This tree-lined parkland course presents a good challenge with undulating fairways and greens. While not a regular host of Open Qualifying, the club does hold a number of open competitions throughout the year, including the Bridget Jackson Bowl, a 36-hole stroke play event for ladies with a handicap limit.
