Gillingham Golf Club, situated in Kent, England, has a history dating back to 1905 when it was established as The United Services Golf Club. Initially a 9-hole course registered with the Royal and Ancient, its exact early location is debated, though it's believed golf was played north of the railway line. Following a period of disuse during the Great War, the club was reinstated, and James Braid was commissioned to lay out a new course in 1919. The course underwent further updates in the 1990s by Donald Steel. This parkland course is known for its narrow, tree-lined fairways and relatively small, quick greens, presenting a good test of accuracy. The course features a mix of short, potentially driveable par 4s and longer, more demanding holes. While not listed among the top courses in the UK or having a prominent Open Qualifying history like some other Kent courses, it offers a friendly atmosphere for both members and visitors.
