Dunham Forest Golf & Country Club

Nestled near Altrincham in Cheshire, Dunham Forest Golf & Country Club offers a parkland test with a rich history. The club was founded in the early 1960s on land that was once part of the Earl of Stamford's estate and had previously been used by the US Army as a prisoner of war camp. Initially opening as a nine-hole course in 1961, designed by John Beasley, it was later expanded to 18 holes in the mid-1960s with further land acquisition. The course as it is played today is largely influenced by the work of Ryder Cup player and renowned architect Dave Thomas, who became the club professional around the time of his runner-up finish at the 1966 Open Championship. While not a consistent Open Qualifying venue, the club has a history of hosting various amateur open competitions, including the Dunham Forest Trophy. The course is known for its tree-lined fairways that demand accuracy and well-guarded greens.
