Coventry Golf Club (18-Hole Course)
Parkland Course in Coventry, England
Coventry Golf Club, established in 1887, is a mature parkland course situated on 120 acres in Warwickshire, England. Originally a 9-hole course on Whitley Common, the club relocated to its current Finham Park site in 1911. The 18-hole course was designed by Harry Vardon, with his brother Harry adding the bunkers. The course was formally opened in 1912 with an exhibition match featuring Harry Vardon and James Braid. The layout has seen changes over the years, including a reconstruction of two holes by Fred Hawtree in the early 1970s due to the construction of a bypass, and a major bunker renovation by Martin Hawtree in the mid-1990s. This gently undulating course, known for its tree-lined fairways, offers a fair yet challenging test of golf. Coventry Golf Club has a history of hosting prestigious events, including Open Championship Regional Qualifying.
