Copthorne Golf Club
Parkland/Heathland/Woodland Course in Copthorne, England
Copthorne Golf Club, established in 1892 with a reconstitution in 1903, is situated in West Sussex, England. The course has evolved over time, with significant design input from James Braid in the 1930s and later modifications by Bill Cox in the 1970s and 80s, and recent work by Alan Walker. It presents a blend of heathland, woodland, and parkland characteristics, laid out on clay soil with ongoing drainage improvements. The par-72 course offers a challenging round, having hosted various county and regional championships, including the English Boys County Championships in 2003 and regional finals of the Junior European Open.
