Burnham & Berrow Golf Club (Championship Course)

Burnham and Berrow Golf Club, situated on the Somerset coast, is a historic links course with a rich heritage dating back to 1890. The club was originally founded as Burnham Golf Club with a nine-hole layout designed by Charles Gibson. It was later extended to 18 holes and renamed Burnham & Berrow Golf Club. Over the years, notable architects such as Herbert Fowler, Harry Colt, and Alister MacKenzie have contributed to the course's evolution, shaping it into the challenging links it is today. The Championship Course is renowned for its undulating fairways, challenging bunkers, and quick greens, set amongst impressive sand dunes. The course has a traditional out-and-back layout, with the front nine playing along the coastline. It has a strong history of hosting prestigious amateur events, including the British Ladies Amateur, the Brabazon Trophy, and the English Amateur. Burnham and Berrow also has a history of serving as a qualifying venue for The Open Championship.
