Burford Golf Club, nestled in the picturesque Cotswolds, is a parkland course with a rich history dating back to 1936. Designed by J.H. Turner, the initial nine holes opened in May 1936, with the full eighteen completed by September 1937. The club experienced a unique period during the Second World War when the back nine was used for cereal production, eventually being reinstated for play in 1949. This historical event is still commemorated with an annual competition for the Harvest Cup. The course itself is known for being an easy walk with gentle undulations and tree-lined fairways. Strategy and accuracy are favoured over raw power due to a mix of doglegs and well-guarded greens. While not consistently featured as an Open Qualifying venue, a player from Burford Golf Club did participate in a British Open Qualifying event in 2012.
