Laurie Auchterlonie

Laurie Auchterlonie, while a renowned professional golfer known for winning the 1902 U.S. Open and part of a famous St. Andrews golfing family, is not primarily recognized as a prolific golf course architect. Although top players of his era sometimes consulted on or laid out courses, Auchterlonie's legacy rests more firmly on his playing career and the family's club-making business than on significant contributions to golf course design.
