J. Hamilton Stutt, often known as 'Hamish' Stutt, was a prominent British golf course architect. He initially worked alongside Fred Hawtree, eventually taking over the renowned Hawtree design practice. Stutt was responsible for designing new courses and undertaking significant renovations on many established layouts, particularly throughout the UK and Europe. His notable work includes the Brabazon and Derby courses at The Belfry and the renovation of the Ailsa course at Turnberry, showcasing a style often characterized as strategic and classic.
