King James VI Golf Club (The Island course)

King James VI Golf Club, affectionately known as 'King Jimmy' or 'The Island', is a unique golf club located on Moncreiffe Island in Perth, Scotland. Founded in 1858 and moving to its current island location in 1897, it is one of only two inland island golf courses globally and holds the distinction of being the only club named after a British monarch. The 18-hole parkland course, designed by Old Tom Morris, offers a challenging round with tree-lined fairways and the River Tay surrounding the island, although the water isn't always in obvious play. The club welcomes visitors and provides a clubhouse and pro shop. The course recently recovered and fully reopened after significant flood damage in 2023.
