The Cashen Course at Ballybunion Golf Club, located on the north-west coast of County Kerry, Ireland, is a challenging links course designed by Robert Trent Jones Sr. and opened in 1982 or 1984. Situated among towering sand dunes overlooking the Atlantic Ocean, it offers a wild and unpredictable layout with undulating greens and deep bunkers, demanding precision and strategic course management. The course is an 18-hole, par 72, with varying lengths from different tees. It shares the same stunning scenery as the famous Old Course but is considered by some to be more difficult, especially in challenging conditions. Ballybunion Golf Club, founded in 1893, offers practice facilities including a driving range, putting greens, and chipping areas, and also provides club and pull cart rentals. Caddie hire is encouraged, although caddies are independent contractors and their availability is not guaranteed. The club has a pro shop and a restaurant on site. Visitor play is allowed with advance booking and a valid handicap certificate (maximum 24 for men, 36 for ladies).
