Thorndon Park Golf Club, situated in the historic county of Essex, England, offers a classic parkland golfing experience. Designed by the renowned Harry Colt and Alister MacKenzie and opened in 1920, the course is laid out across 240 acres of former Elizabethan deer parkland. The gently undulating terrain is framed by mature woodland, featuring ancient oak trees that add to the sense of history and maturity. The course is known for its well-maintained, fast greens and strategically placed bunkers and water features that provide a test of accuracy. A notable feature is a hole requiring a shot over the lake. The round concludes with the imposing Palladian mansion of Thorndon Hall as a backdrop, providing a memorable finish. While not typically featured in national top 100 rankings, Thorndon Park is widely considered one of the premier parkland courses in the Essex area.
