Renishaw Park Golf Club

Renishaw Park Golf Club, situated on the border of Sheffield and Derbyshire in England, was conceived by Sir George Sitwell and established in 1911 within the mature parkland of Renishaw Hall. The course layout, largely unaltered from its original design, presents a game of two distinct halves: a rolling parkland front nine demanding accuracy, and a more open, flatter back nine alongside the River Rother where length is rewarded. Over the years, the course was extended and updated while retaining its initial character. Notably, Dr. Alister MacKenzie collaborated with A.E. Turnell on the design. Renishaw Park has been recognized for the quality of its greens, often cited as among the best in the area, known for being fast and true. The club has hosted numerous county and regional golf events. Unfortunately, Renishaw Park Golf Club closed permanently in December 2023 due to financial difficulties exacerbated by declining membership and frequent flooding from the adjacent river.
