Newquay Golf Club

Newquay Golf Club, established in 1890, is a links course situated on the north Cornwall coast overlooking Fistral Beach. Designed by the renowned architect Harry Colt, the course offers a traditional layout that makes excellent use of the natural terrain. The history of the club is notable, with the land originally earmarked for housing before local protests in the late 1880s saved the site for golf. The club's grounds were expanded in 1908, and the clubhouse is located in a mansion dating back to 1835. The course, an 18-hole, par 69 layout measuring 6141 yards from the blue tees, is known for its challenging nature, particularly when the coastal winds are up, and its well-protected greens. Accuracy is often key to scoring well here. While not a regular venue for The Open Qualifying, Newquay Golf Club has a history of hosting prestigious County events and has produced numerous County Champions.
