Nestled in the heart of the West Midlands, the Forest of Arden Hotel & Country Club boasts the Championship Arden Course, a parkland layout designed by the esteemed Donald Steel. Opened in 1970, this course has a notable history of hosting significant professional events, including multiple stagings of the British Masters and the English Open, and the Hero Open in 2020. It's a course that demands both length and accuracy, with tree-lined fairways, strategic water hazards, and well-placed bunkers. The gently undulating terrain adds to the challenge, particularly on the front nine with its water features. The back nine, moving through ancient oak forest where deer roam, offers a different feel. The course culminates in a testing par-3 18th hole played over a lake, a signature finish that has seen its share of drama in tournaments past. While not consistently ranked in the UK's top 100, its championship pedigree and challenging design make it a respected venue in English golf.
