Lightcliffe Golf Club

Lightcliffe Golf Club, established in 1907, is a friendly, family-oriented club located in West Yorkshire, England. Originally a 12-hole course at Cliffe Hill Park, the club moved to its current site and was re-designed during World War 2 by a member who was a Prisoner of War. The course itself is a mature and challenging 9-hole heathland/parkland track that plays as 18 holes with panoramic views of the surrounding area, including the Halifax Rail Viaduct. While not exceptionally long, the course demands accuracy, particularly on approach shots to its often small and raised greens. The third hole is noted as a challenging par 4 with a drive needed and a shot over a stream to a tricky green. The club offers a warm welcome to visitors and has a strong community feel with a focus on junior and ladies' golf. Lightcliffe Golf Club has previously hosted the Halifax, Huddersfield and District Junior Championship.
