Great Salterns Golf Course, also known as Portsmouth Golf Centre, offers an accessible golfing experience on the south coast of England. Opened on July 14th, 1926, the course was laid out by the eminent golf architect H S Colt on land that was originally reclaimed from the sea. This 18-hole layout is described as an 'inland links' or mature parkland course, featuring a par of 69. The course measures just over 5,600 yards from the back tees, presenting a moderate challenge that is enjoyable for golfers of all abilities. The layout is split into two sections separated by a road, with water coming into play on a few holes, including two that play across Salterns Lake. While a pleasant and affordable place to play, Great Salterns is not a venue that has featured on the Open Championship qualifying rota.
