Fairfield Golf & Sailing Club (Main Course)

Fairfield Golf & Sailing Club, located in Audenshaw, Manchester, is a parkland course with a history dating back to 1892. The club is situated in a green belt area, offering views that include reservoirs. Originally a 9-hole course with a small clubhouse, it has evolved significantly over the decades. A major renovation project completed around 2010-2013, supervised by golf expert Andrew Murray, saw the creation of six new holes and improvements to existing ones, increasing the course length and transforming it into an 18-hole, par 70 layout. The course is known for requiring accuracy rather than just length, with a focus on hitting fairways to set up shots to the greens. The club also underwent a significant clubhouse renewal program, with a new clubhouse designed by Block 3 Architects and Mungo Park Architects starting construction in 2014. While the club's full title includes "Sailing Club," sailing no longer takes place there.
