Astbury Golf Club ( Course)
Parkland Course in Congleton, England
Nestled in the picturesque South Cheshire countryside, Astbury Golf Club presents a pleasant parkland challenge with a history dating back to its founding in 1922. The course, remodelled by Fred Hawtree in the mid-1970s, features sweeping tree-lined fairways and is notable for the historic Macclesfield canal that meanders through the layout. While generally easy to walk, strategic bunkering and water hazards on several holes, including the memorable 12th with its carry over a ravine, provide a test of accuracy and course management. Astbury offers a solid round of golf in a tranquil setting in England. The club celebrated its centenary in 2022 and hosted the Cheshire County Stroke Play championship. There is no indication that the course has been used as an Open Qualifying location.
