Archie Compston

Archie Compston (1893-1962) was a prominent English professional golfer best known for his playing career and rivalry with figures like Walter Hagen. While primarily celebrated for his on-course achievements, including significant tournament victories, Compston also engaged in golf course design work. Although his architectural output was less extensive than his playing record, it included involvement in courses such as Royal Cinque Ports Golf Club in Deal, England, representing a secondary facet of his multifaceted career in golf.
