Allan Robertson Designed Golf Courses

Allan Robertson (1815–1859) is widely regarded as the world's first professional golfer and is often cited as the first significant golf course architect. Based in St Andrews, he managed and made considerable alterations and improvements to the Old Course, effectively acting as its custodian and shaper, influencing its layout and pioneering methods of greenkeeping and links management, thereby laying foundational principles for future course development.
