Shannon Golf Club (Main Course)
Parkland Course in Shannon, Northern Ireland
Established in 1966 and designed by Commander John D. Harris (John D Harris), Shannon Golf Club is a mature parkland course located near Shannon Airport in County Clare. The course features tree-lined fairways with a mix of natural meadow grass, spruce, evergreens, and deciduous trees. Golfers will encounter a blend of sand-based and traditional greens, guarded by numerous bunkers. Water hazards come into play on several holes, notably the par-three 17th, which requires a shot over the Shannon Estuary and stands out as a signature hole. Shannon Golf Club has a history of hosting notable events, including Irish and European amateur championships and professional tournaments.
