Luttrellstown Castle Golf & Country Club (The Golf Course)
Parkland Course in Castleknock, Northern Ireland
Set within the historic estate grounds near Dublin, Luttrellstown Castle offers a parkland golf experience designed by the notable architectural team of Donald Steel and Tom Alister MacKenzie, following an earlier layout by Nicholas Bielenberg and Eddie Connaughton. The course underwent a significant redesign in 2006. Playing up to 7347 yards from the back tees, the layout winds through mature parkland with undulating terrain, incorporating strategically placed links-style bunkers and water features that come into play on numerous holes. The course notably hosted the Guardian Irish Open in 1997, showcasing its championship pedigree. Views of the historic castle, the River Liffey, and a scenic Doric Temple add to the visual appeal, though they can pose a distraction from the golf.
