Kilkenny Golf Club

Kilkenny Golf Club boasts a history stretching back to 1896, although it settled into its present parkland location at Glendine in the 1920s. The current 18-hole layout, which opened in 1938, benefits from the design input of acclaimed architects Tom Simpson and Molly Gourlay. Set across 120 acres, the course is characterised by mature tree-lined fairways that demand careful shot placement and sand-based greens that provide consistent putting surfaces and year-round playability. While largely on flat terrain, subtle elevation changes and strategically placed trees add challenge. The course features notable par threes and a demanding closing stretch. The club has hosted significant events in the past, including the Carroll's Irish Matchplay Professional Championship.
