Enniscrone Golf Club (The Dunes)

Enniscrone Golf Club, located on the scenic West Coast of Ireland in County Sligo, is renowned for its "Dunes" Championship Links course. Established in 1918, with the 18-hole Dunes course officially opened in 1974 (originally designed by Eddie Hackett and later upgraded by Donald Steel who added 6 new holes), the club is set on 400 acres of links land featuring some of the largest dunes in Ireland. The course, a par 73 stretching over 7,000 yards from the tips, offers a challenging yet visually stunning links golf experience with panoramic views of Killala Bay, Bartra Island, sandy beaches, and the Nephin and Ox Mountains. Twelve of the eighteen holes wind through tall sand dunes and marram grass roughs, providing a sense of isolation, while the finishing holes border the Atlantic Ocean. The course is known for its demanding layout that requires strategic play and creativity, rewarding those who can control their trajectory and utilize the ground contours. Enniscrone has hosted significant amateur events and is consistently ranked among the top links courses in Ireland and the UK & Ireland. Facilities include a driving range, putting green, chipping green, practice bunker, pro shop, restaurant, bar, changing rooms, and lockers. Caddie, golf club, motor cart, and pull cart hire are available. Golf lessons are also offered. The club has a guest-friendly policy, although weekend play may be more restricted.
