East Cork Golf Club
Parkland Course in Midleton, Northern Ireland
East Cork Golf Club, founded in 1968, is a parkland course situated on the outskirts of Midleton, County Cork, Ireland. Originally a 9-hole course on a converted dairy farm, it was extended to 18 holes in 1975, with a further extension to the clubhouse in 1992, and the 18-hole course was completed in 1997. Designed by Eddie Hackett, the course measures 5435 yards (4970m) and plays to a par of 69. The course is known for being challenging, requiring accuracy, especially on the tree-lined front nine with strategically placed bunkers. The Ownacurragh river provides water hazards on four holes around the turn. The club offers a pro shop, practice facilities including a driving range, putting green, and chipping green, as well as a restaurant and bar. Guest play is permitted, and clubs, pull carts, and motor carts are available for hire. The club is semi-private and is accepting membership applications.
