Blainroe Golf Club
Parkland Course in Blainroe, Northern Ireland
Nestled on the County Wicklow coastline, Blainroe Golf Club offers a parkland test with expansive sea views from each hole. Conceived by Christy Cooney, the course was brought to life by the design of Fred Hawtree, opening for play in 1978. A significant redesign by Martin Hawtree, Fred's son, in 2005 updated the greens to USGA standard and introduced new bunkering, enhancing the challenge. The layout features a varied collection of holes, including the memorable par-4 14th played over a cliff edge and the demanding par-3 15th. While not traditionally an Open Qualifying venue, Blainroe has been recognised among the top courses in Ireland.
