Bearna Golf Club
Parkland Course in Bearna, Northern Ireland
Nestled on the fringes of Connemara in the west of Ireland, Bearna Golf Club, designed by R.J. 'Bobby' Browne, opened for play in 1996. Carved from typical Connemara moorland featuring granite rock, bog, gorse, and heather, the course presents a challenging layout that respects its natural environment. Water comes into play on a number of holes, adding a strategic element to the round. While not a traditional links, its setting offers a unique test with generously proportioned fairways and elevated tees providing views of Galway Bay, the Burren, and the Aran Islands. The greens are built to USGA specifications, offering a consistent putting surface. Bearna offers a memorable golfing experience in a ruggedly beautiful landscape and has not been a venue for Open Championship Qualifying.
